COMMUTERS are caught munching or sipping at drinks at the Orchard MRT station at least five times a day.
Curry puffs, biscuits and soft drinks in plastic cups are the snacks of choice in the no-eating, no-drinking zones that are MRT stations.

Mas Selamat, a Singaporean citizen of Indonesian origin, is alleged to have plotted to hijack a plane and fly it into Singapore’s international airport.
KUALA LUMPUR – MALAYSIA has arrested three men who allegedly met a top Singaporean terror suspect in a bid to revive the activities of the regional militant network, Jemaah Islamiyah, a news report and a rights activist say.
Police arrested the suspects in southern Johor state on June 25 under the Internal Security Act, which allows for indefinite detention without trial, said Nalini Elumalai, a representative of the Movement to Abolish the ISA.

STOMPer Witch Doctor says these medicine men seen at Albert Complex and Fu Lu Shou Complex claim to be able to cure various illnesses, including cancer.
The STOMPer says:
“These pictures were taken at the concourse between Albert Complex and Fu Lu Shou Complex at Rochore Road. Every day crowds of locals and tourists would throng this place to hunt for a cheap bargain and occasionally to listen to the tales spinned by our eloquent ‘koyok man’.

STOMPer Colexcolex spotted this embassy car parked along a double yellow line in a carpark at Ang Mo Kio Central for more than an hour and wondered if it was subjected to our traffic rules.
In an email to STOMP today (July 3), the STOMPer wrote:
“I saw this embassy car parked along a double yellow line in a car park at Ang Mo Kio Central for more than an hour.
“I wonder if the ambassador knows if the driver is committing an offence, as there is no indication that the ambassador is riding in the car.
“Or does he think it is ok just because they (ambassadors) enjoy immunity regardless whether the ambassador is in the car or not?”

Andorra says her five-year-old son stepped on the $1200 shoe of a jewellery store executive, but his colleague’s subsequent reaction to the incident was way out of proportion.
In an email to STOMP today (July 3), the STOMPer recounted the incident which took place on May 24.
The STOMPer said she was shopping at SaSa comestics store when a man stomped in angrily to look for her and her son.

Local prices will be released early next week, a SingTel spokesman said.
SINGTEL, the largest telco here, has announced that it will start selling Apple’s latest upgrade, the iPhone 3GS, from next Friday.
According to its website, the iconic touchscreen phone will come in both 16GB (gigabyte) and 32GB models, in both black and white colours.
Local prices will be released early next week, a SingTel spokesman said. However, it is known that AT & T in the United States will charge US$199 for the new 16 GB model and US$299 for the 32GB version.
The newest version of the phone was unveiled by manufacturer Apple in June in San Francisco at its annual developer conference.

IT WAS bad enough for this father to find out that his 14-year-old girl had been having sex regularly.
But things got worse.
Even after making a police report and repeatedly warning his daughter’s boyfriend, the sexual trysts continued right under his nose.

STOMPer Ben came across a confusing job advertisement on the newspaper, which stated that the worker is entitled only to one day off in a month for a 5 and a half day work week.
He said:
“I came across this on The Straits Times Classified on July 1.

Even after cleaning up the coffeeshop at Kallang Place, STOMPer Aaron says that the place still looks dirty and wondered if the process was effective.

“I would like to feedback on the cleaning done at Kallang Place 26a.
“Our committee had spoken to the person-in-charge of Kallang Place cleanliness to schedule the floor washing after 1900hrs as patrons are likely to have their dinner there before that time.
